Can I be the first MILLIONTH to break the myth that it's not money that funds your dreams. It's audacity. Courage. Tenacity. The intangibles of downright hard work and a non-stop grind. Sure, money will help build your dreams, but it sure as hell won't support them on their own.
There are millionaires who go bankrupt because they lack the qualities of a determined soul who values the pursuit more than the prize.
I think there's this illusion that only rich people can build the life they dream of.
Newsflash guys, I am NOT rich. In fact, I don't claim to have any more money than you. I probably actually don't. You can blame my impulsive jet-setting tendencies for this as well as my monthly Spotify subscription. What I DO have though, is a goal in mind. And a work ethic that would knock out Tyson if matched up in the ring.
That's right Mike Tython. Leth thee what you goth.
When it comes to doing what you love, you shouldn't think there is any body else working harder than you at your craft. And it's not even about a comparison to someone else. It's about knowing that the average person stays motivated for about as long as a Kardashian marriage. That's just the way things work. Our brains... and her
vagina marriages. Life. If you want to achieve your goals, it needs to be a relentless and daily pursuit.
So I don't know what it is your heart desires, but gosh dang it, if you let another day go by without chasing after what you want in life, then maybe you don't want it as bad as you think.
I get asked this question at least once a week from friends, followers, and people I meet on my travels... "What do you do that allows you to travel so much?" Now, this answer has varied since I've moved to Spain, but I was blessed with an incredible boss while I was in England, who had enough trust in my vision and work ethic, that I didn't need to be micromanaged like most CEOs do that drive their employees crazy. If there was a deadline, it was met. If there was a project, I wasn't sleeping until it was done. I had a great working relationship with her because of our mutual understanding, not to mention she is a fellow jet-setter who has been to twice the amount of countries as I have as well. It also helps being in a location central to several amazing European countries, so traveling wasn't and isn’t nearly as difficult or expensive as people might think.
To put it in a way you might better relate, what if I told you that for the price of a ONE-WAY trip from LA to San Francisco, I could book two ROUNDTRIP flights from England to Dublin, Ireland? It's all about perspective. America is MASSIVE
*oh hey cheeky British lingo* and because it's all one country, most people live their lives never venturing outside of their home state. The distance from one side of Texas to the other, could easily span over 3-4 small countries in Europe. Pretty dope, right!?
So no, I'm not rich. But for the price of that Starbucks you buy every day for a week, I booked a trip to Belgium instead. Yes, my cheapest country of all my travels. A mere €12/$16 coach ride. Mind-blowing.
Priorities are EVERYTHING. If you didn't eat out for a whole month and saved that money instead, what if I told you that's enough to book a vacation somewhere? Enough to buy the domain and hosting for a website you've wanted to make for your business? Enough to attend that professional training workshop to take your skills to the next level?
So what is it you want to do? Where is it you want to go? And when will you turn that wish into a reality by taking the necessary steps to get there? Time will pass anyway, might as well spend the one life you have doing what makes you happy. It's never the end of the world when there's evidence that you've tried. My failures don’t define me any more than my successes do. But hey... what do I know anyway?
Everything, of course. I’m just a girl living the "American Dream" on European soil. Cue the irony. So quit sulking at your piggy bank and start saving up currency in
AUDACITY,
DETERMINATION, and
PERSEVERANCE to start funding the life of your dreams.
